Operations Manager
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Operations Manager to help build and client’s operational systems from the ground up. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a mission-driven, international environment and enjoys creating efficient, scalable systems.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in operations, administration, finance, and/or people operations, combined with the ability to navigate evolving workflows and drive organizational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and improve operational processes and systems to enhance team efficiency.
- Manage key functions like finance, HR, IT, vendor management, logistics, and compliance.
- Oversee contracts, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to organizational standards.
- Support people operations, including onboarding, performance processes, and team engagement.
- Collaborate closely with client’s regional teams (Finance, HR, IT, Legal) and the Managing Director of GFI Korea.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing remote work culture.
- Ensure seamless coordination of operations, travel, and internal communication across global teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- 7+ years of experience across two or more of the following areas: operations, administration, finance, or people operations.
- Strong financial and IT literacy with a keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn new tools.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Asana, Salesforce, and Slack preferred.
- Proven experience in project management, workflow optimization, vendor management, or compliance.
- Fluency in Korean and business-level English (written and verbal) required; conversational English is a plus.
- Demonstrated ownership, initiative, and problem-solving ability in complex or fast-changing environments.
- Excellent strategic thinking, prioritization, and communication skills.
- Experience leading or supporting teams, particularly in a remote or cross-functional setting.
- Strong alignment with client’s mission and values, including evidence-based decision-making and collaboration.
The Fine Print
- Employment Type: Full-time, with a three-month probationary period.
- Reports To: Managing Director, in S. Korea (with close coordination with APAC teams in Singapore and the U.S.).
- Location: Fully remote within Korea. The S. Korea team meets in person approximately twice a year (2–5 days each). Travel expenses covered per policy.
- Work Hours: Flexible schedule, with occasional early morning or evening calls to collaborate globally.
- Compensation: Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: Statutory benefits and paid leave per S.Korea’s policies.
- Eligibility: Must have legal authorization to work in S.Korea at the start of employment. S.Korea does not sponsor employment visas.
