General Manager
Role Overview
The company is a well-established and trusted supplier and contracting services provider within the construction industry, employing over 500 professionals across 16 operating entities in six countries throughout Asia.
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing day-to-day operations across Sales, Logistics, Procurement, and Technical functions. This role ensures efficient execution of business activities, drives sales growth, maintains high-quality standards, and supports product and process innovation within the construction/building materials industry.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate daily operations across Sales, Logistics, Procurement, and Technical teams to ensure smooth workflows, timely execution, and achievement of business objectives.
Develop and execute sales strategies to identify new business opportunities and drive revenue growth.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure product quality, on-time delivery, and high customer satisfaction.
Apply engineering expertise to review material specifications, ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards, and provide technical guidance to internal teams and customers.
Drive product and service improvements by proposing enhancements, introducing innovations, and optimizing existing processes and methods.
Conduct technical and market research on local construction practices, materials, and emerging technologies to support strategic decision-making.
Lead, mentor, and develop operations and sales teams to improve performance, capability, and engagement.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and local regulatory requirements.
Prepare operational reports and provide insights to management on performance, risks, and improvement areas.
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the country of operation is mandatory.
Experience Requirements
5–8 years of relevant experience in operations management, supply chain, sales, or technical roles within the construction or building materials industry.
Key Competencies & Skills
Strong understanding of local construction methodologies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Experience working with ERP systems and operational reporting tools.
Proven leadership and people management capabilities.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Highly organized, results-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
