East End, Toronto | On-Site | Full-Time
$110,000–$125,000 CAD + Benefits
The Opportunity
We're hiring on behalf of one of our established precision manufacturing partners in Toronto for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead quality systems, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across its manufacturing operations.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a senior leadership role with significant responsibility for the organization's Quality Management System (QMS), ISO 9001 compliance, audit performance and overall quality effectiveness.
We're seeking an accomplished quality professional who brings more than an understanding of standards and procedures — someone who knows how to translate quality requirements into effective manufacturing processes, strengthen accountability and prevent recurring problems.
The ideal candidate combines deep ISO 9001 expertise, proven audit leadership and the ability to influence quality performance across production, engineering and supply chain operations.
The Mandate
You'll take ownership of the organization's Quality Management System, ensuring it remains compliant, effective and continuously improving.
Your focus will extend beyond maintaining certifications to strengthening the processes, controls and accountability that support consistent manufacturing quality and customer confidence.
Quality Management Systems & ISO 9001
Lead the development, implementation and ongoing improvement of the organization's Quality Management System.
Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements and applicable contractual and regulatory quality standards.
Establish effective quality policies, procedures, work instructions and document-control processes.
Evaluate existing quality systems, identify gaps and implement improvements that strengthen operational effectiveness.
Ensure quality requirements are consistently understood and applied throughout manufacturing operations.
Audit Leadership & Regulatory Compliance
Lead internal, external, customer and certification audits, maintaining continuous audit readiness.
Coordinate audit preparation, documentation, evidence gathering and cross-functional participation.
Manage audit findings, corrective action plans and timely closure of non-conformances.
Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure sustained compliance.
Serve as a key point of contact for quality system assessments and audit-related matters.
Non-Conformance Management & Corrective Action
Oversee the identification, investigation and resolution of manufacturing quality issues.
Lead structured root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action (CAPA) and effectiveness verification.
Identify recurring defects, systemic weaknesses and opportunities to strengthen preventive controls.
Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering to resolve quality challenges and reduce repeat non-conformances.
Promote proactive risk identification and prevention rather than reactive problem-solving.
Quality Performance & Continuous Improvement
Establish and monitor quality performance indicators, audit trends, corrective action effectiveness and operational quality risks.
Analyze quality data to identify improvement opportunities and emerging concerns.
Drive initiatives that improve process consistency, reduce defects and strengthen customer satisfaction.
Support continuous improvement through standardized processes, data-driven decisions and cross-functional accountability.
Provide senior leadership with meaningful visibility into quality system performance and improvement priorities.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Lead, mentor and develop quality personnel, reinforcing technical capability and accountability.
Partner with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and other departments to integrate quality requirements into daily operations.
Lead management reviews and present QMS performance, audit results, quality risks and corrective action progress to senior leadership.
Support customer quality concerns, supplier-related quality issues and escalations as required.
Strengthen a culture in which quality is embedded in manufacturing decisions and operational execution.
The Experience You Bring
Essential Qualifications
10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing quality management, quality assurance or Quality Management Systems leadership.
Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, quality management principles and audit requirements.
Demonstrated experience leading internal, external, customer and certification audits.
Proven expertise in non-conformance management, root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Experience developing, maintaining and improving QMS documentation, procedures and quality controls.
Strong leadership experience with the ability to guide quality personnel and influence cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated success identifying systemic quality issues and implementing sustainable improvements.
Strong analytical, organizational, communication and problem-solving capabilities.
Relevant education in Quality, Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience That Will Set You Apart
Quality leadership experience in precision manufacturing, CNC machining, metal fabrication or complex contract manufacturing.
Experience managing quality systems in manufacturing environments with demanding customer specifications and traceability requirements.
Proven success improving audit outcomes, corrective action effectiveness and overall QMS performance.
Experience supporting supplier quality management and customer quality escalations.
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification or equivalent formal auditing credentials.
What Success Looks Like
The strongest candidate will be a quality leader who understands that an effective QMS must work in practice, not simply exist in documentation.
You'll bring the confidence to challenge ineffective processes, the technical knowledge to identify systemic risks and the leadership ability to drive improvements across manufacturing operations.
You'll be comfortable engaging directly with production teams, engineering leadership, customers and senior management while maintaining a consistent standard of quality and compliance.
Success in this role means a stronger, more proactive Quality Management System — supported by effective audits, fewer recurring non-conformances and clear accountability across the organization.
